4.5 Differentiation

Differentiation is performed when a derivative expression is the subject of simplification.

• Derivands that are multiplicative expressions are handled using the product rule.
• Derivands that are division expressions are handled using the quotient rule.
• Derivands that are themselves derivatives in LaPlace notation are converted to Leibnitz notation.
